Spotlight
Spotlight: Black Rural Life is a major multimedia project supported by a 2024–2026 Southern Artists for Social Change grant through NPN, documenting and celebrating Black rural life, memory, creativity, and continuity. This work deepened my public practice and became one of the roots from which BLACK RURAL FUTURISM™ continued to grow.

THE WORLDVIEW
I do not believe ordinary life is small.
I believe a front porch can be a theory. A church fan can be an archive. A family recipe can be a technology. A broadband gap can reveal an entire political imagination. A good outfit can become a declaration of future belonging. A childhood game, a rural road, a field, a grandmother’s phrase, a fandom obsession, a painted room—all of it can become material for worldbuilding.
That belief shapes my art, writing, speaking, games, and cultural projects. BLACK RURAL FUTURISM™ is one of its clearest expressions: a body of work rooted in the conviction that Black rural life is not a relic, but a source of intelligence, beauty, invention, and future vision.
